Outreach and Missions

“I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!”
MATTHEW 25:40

When All Souls was founded, the Vestry committed 10% of all pledges to be spent on outreach in the local community and beyond. The congregation continues to support that commitment and additional grants, fundraisers, and gifts of money and goods have shown the heart of the parish for outreach and mission!

PROJECTS SUPPORTED WITH PLEDGES AND VOLUNTEER TIME

4 Saints Food Pantry

4Saints is a joint project between All Souls, St. Martin’s, St. Luke’s, and St. Stephen’s. Several All Souls members provide leadership and weekly volunteer support to offer groceries and household necessities to families in East Fort Worth. Financial support is provided with an annual donation of outreach funds as well as a monthly collection. Parishioners also respond generously whenever the call goes out for food pantry items that are especially needed.

AISD Crow Leadership Academy
We assist at Crow by providing money for school uniforms. Parishioners volunteer support by listening to and encouraging emerging readers. In December 2017, with parish funds, diocesan grant money, and the hard work of many All Souls members we partnered with the Crow Math Instructional Specialist and Crow parents to provide a Holiday market for students to select gifts for moms and dads. We also matched student contributions to provide a Feed My Starving Children food packaging event. We look forward to continuing our support of the children, families, and staff at Crow.

UTA Food Pantry

After discovering that many college students experience food insecurity, our Outreach committee worked hard to figure out a way to meet the needs of UTA students. On the first Saturday of each month, food staples, produce, and personal care items are provided for UTA students. There is a significant need among international students who are far away from family and not permitted to work due to their student visas, but domestic students often go hungry too. Food is available to everyone with no strings attached. (During the COVID-19 crisis we have been supplying canned and dry goods to the TriC campus organization, which is the only food pantry available to students who are living on campus and unable to return home.)

Refugee Services of Texas

Guided by the principles of human compassion and dignity, Refugee Services of Texas welcomes refugees, immigrants, and other displaced peoples and supports them in integrating and thriving in their new communities. Members of All Souls work in a variety of ways to support the work of RST at their Ft. Worth office.

United Thank Offering

The United Thank Offering (UTO) is a ministry of The Episcopal Church for the mission of the whole church. Through UTO, individuals are invited to embrace and deepen a personal daily spiritual discipline of gratitude. UTO encourages people to notice the good things that happen each day, give thanks to God for those blessings and make an offering for each blessing using a UTO Blue Box. UTO is entrusted to receive the offerings, and to distribute 100% of what is collected to support innovative mission and ministry throughout The Episcopal Church and Provinces of the Anglican Communion.

The membership of All Souls is invited to pick up a UTO Blue Box from the church office and grow in gratitude through this spiritual practice of giving.

Episcopal Relief and Development

Episcopal Relief & Development is the compassionate response of The Episcopal Church to human suffering in the world. Hearing God’s call to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being, Episcopal Relief & Development serves to bring together the generosity of Episcopalians and others with the needs of the world. Through ERD's Gifts of Life Program, our church members are able to give people worldwide the chance to transform their lives in lasting ways.
